The kids attended Cooking Camp this week at their school. On the first day, Caroline was not sure she wanted to go but after going and having so much fun, she was happy to get out of the car each day. Her favorite part was getting out of the car and walking in with big brother! Each day they helped prepare a different food, made a craft, read books, a bible story and of course at the finished product. It was a fun week that included blueberry pancakes (Caroline had blueberries on her face, tummy and legs), pizza, soup, homemade butter, cookies, and friendship fruit salad. I'm just waiting for Jack and Caroline to cook dinner for me one night!
On Friday, they did a brief presentation for the parents. Each child wore their apron they designed, received their chef's hat, and had their picture made with the cookbook the kids created. Ms. Pat said something about each child. Caroline was introduced as Peanut. Her nickname at school and she will answer you if you call her Peanut! Ms. Pat said Jack enjoyed exploring this week. I think she was referring to the new playground. He has all the detail of who made the play area. He is my little engineer!
The first pic is not great quality but wanted to post. Jack was told to put bubbles in his mouth when walking to the fellowship hall. He did as he was told and left the bubbles in his mouth for about 5 minutes. While all the other kids were talking he still had his bubbles and was sitting quietly! He doesn't do that too often! I'm Becoming a Big Girl!
Caroline is growing up so quickly. In just over a month, she will be turning two. Over the past month, she has been learning how to potty and now is sleeping in her bed without a railing. We are trying to get her prepared for her new bed that will be coming in the next two to three months. Today, I made sure her room was ready for unattended play. Then Daddy, took one side of her crib down. She is so excited to be able to climb into her bed all by herself! (There aren't too many things she can climb on by herself) Jack also loved her "new" bed. So far so good, she has slept in her bed and napped in it without even getting up to play. . . I know that will not last!

Crocodile Dock - VBS
This past week, Jack and I attended Vacation Bible School. Caroline went into the nursery each day and did excellent with her potty training. This was Jack's first year of VBS and he seemed to have a great time. He was sad when it was all over. On Monday he learned about Flash the Firefly who has a special light to help him remember is God is always with him. He made a cute necklace of Flash the Firelfly. On Tuesday, he learned about Jacque le Croc. Jacque's mighty jaws reminds him that God is powerful. He made a necklace with Jacque le Croc.
On Wednesday he was introduced to Belle the Bird. She loves to speak from her beak and wants the kids to remember that God does what he says he'll do. On this day he made a Belle bookmark (no picutre of his craft today). They also made a wonderful pillow case. This is an annual craft that they do each year. Jack can't wait to sleep on his Crocodile Dock pillow.
On Thursday, he learned about Blossum the awesome Opossum. Her story was the Opossums may seem to come back to life but Jesus really did. God gives us life. He made a Jesus puppet today. On our final day, he learned about Tucker the Turtle. When things get tough, he curls up into his tough shell. When things get tough for him he is to remember that God cares for us. Jack stuffed his very own turtle (no picture because yet - he is in Jack's bed) and named him Spider Turtle. What a wonderful week we had. I will try to post some additional pictures that the church took. He is already asking when he can go back to VBS.

Shower Tea for Baby Davis
Today we celebrated the impending arrival of Baby Davis with Shower at Seven Spring Tea Room. It was small affair with our family and we had a great time. The food was excellent and I personally loved the Peach Sweet Tea. Jennifer received some great gifts for Baby Davis. We can't wait to meet him in a few weeks.

Tellus Science Museum
After hearing our friends talk about the Tellus Science Museum, we made plans to attend. Since Dad was off work, we took both kids and invited Jack's friend Landon. We also had Dru, Marley and Angie join us for a fun and educational experience. All of the kids enjoyed the museum. Jack loved the aviation area and digging for dinosaur fossils. Caroline's favorite was touching the gems and of course looking for the diamonds. This will be a neat place to visit as Jack and Caroline learn more and more about "Science."

Fun in the Sun
We have been enjoying the pool this summer. Jack is doing great with swimming. He can officially swim without any floating devices. He also loves to swim around with his noodle. Caroline loves the water and enjoys playing on the sun bathing landing. She thinks she can swim too!

After a fun day in the sun, we had a dinner with an octopus! Yes, Jack and Caroline loved their surprise dinner of an Octopus with seaweed.
