Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we headed to my cousins house to celebrate Thanksgiving with my Mom's side of the family. Jack and Caroline both had a wonderful time playing with their cousins. Jack got to hang out with his older girl cousins. If you know Jack, he loves older girls.

One thing I have learned about being a parent is you never know what your child may ask. Today, Jack wanted to know if the turkey we were eating had a head. Neither Ed nor I knew what to say! I told him this was question that only Pop Pop could answer! He has all the answers. He never did ask Pop Pop!

I did a terrible job taking pictures. Jack playing dress up with cousin Mady.

Santa Santa Santa!

Today, we had our official visit with the real Santa at Phipps Plaza. This is Jack's fourth visit and Caroline's second visit to the Phipps Santa. I was prepared for Caroline to cry and she did not disappoint. To make the visit more enjoyable, I held her as I sat on Santa's lap! This is the same thing I had to do when Jack was her age.

Santa asked Caroline's age and then quickly responded . . . you sure are going through the terrible two's early! Jack whispered everything he wanted to Santa. He even showed Santa how old he was with his fingers in some Spiderman sign. Ed and the cameraman were very impressed. It must be a guy thing! Jack was a great example for his sissy.

Caroline's School Thanksgiving Party

Today was Caroline's Thanksgiving Party at "school." All the kids (ages 1 to 2) sat at the table, washed their hands, and said the blessing. I was so proud of my little princess! She participated by clasping her hands and listening to her teacher say the blessing. We then had a kid friendly lunch of chicken nuggets, fruit and not one but two doughnut holes! Her teachers also told me how well she ate at school and couldn't believe she didn't weigh more.

Thanksgiving Party with Friends!

Today we had our Thanksgiving Playdate with Jack and Caroline's friends. We had a tradition Thanksgiving feast with turkey and all the "fixings." The kids could have cared less about eating but all the Moms sure did enjoy all the delicious food. The kids had such a great time playing. Ms. Stephanie read the kids a special Thanksgiving Book.

The kids enjoying their storytime.

Jack's School Thanksgiving Celebration

Jack had his Thanksgiving celebration at school today. They sang two Thanksgiving songs and also did a new blessing. Jack did really well and participated. Last year he did not have any interest in participating in singing or the blessing. The first picture is this year and the second picture is from last years' celebration. It is amazing how much he has grown in one year. The last picture is of his best buddies (Thomas, and Riley).

Creative Movement

Jack's school offers "Fun Friday" where the 3 and 4 year olds come to school and have a fun day of art, creative movement, and lots of playtime. He now asks almost every week if he can go to school on Friday! Today, they did a performance for the parents to show us what they have been learning during creative movement.

The pictures are not the greatest but at least you can see Jack participated. The kids did a great job. The last picture (not very clear) is Jack and his friend Kara. She is an older 4 year old that Jack talks about every Friday. He told me on the way to school this morning that he wondered what Kara would wear today! It is funny what children think of ! When Jack looked at the pictures from today, he also asked me if I could take a better picture of Kara. I promised him I would work on getting a better picture of Jack and Kara together.

The Pink Pig - Take 1

Today we headed down to Lenox Mall to ride the Pink Pig with friends. This has become a tradition for us to ride the Pink Pig. I can remember riding as a child and want Jack and Caroline to have those same memories. We plan to go back again this year with Dad after we see Santa. Jack loved riding and had a great time. Caroline was a little skeptical but did okay. She has a fear of rides (even though it goes really really slow).

Helicopter and Crackers

You never know what you might find when you open a drawer or a closet. Today while looking for some crackers, I found a helicopter. Caroline loves playing in the kitchen pantry. She left her (Jack's) toy helicopter behind in exchange for some crackers.

Music Music Music

Caroline loves going to Kindermusic class with Mommy each Monday. Here are a couple of pictures of her friends. The kids used pans as a drum and noise maker. Caroline decided to use hers as a hat.

Getting Started

Thanks to a dear sweet friends help (Angie), I'm finally starting a blog. I must also thank Dana for prodding me to get started! I hope everyone enjoys keeping up with our two bugs! Here are a couple of random recent pictures of Jack and Caroline. Caroline loves wearing Jack's Cowboy hat. Of course, Jack can't be left out! Look for more to come in the next week!
